You mean the way that the failure of Tim Burton's craptacular "re-imagining" of Planet of the Apes prevented this remake from getting made? Sadly, nothing can stop Hollywood from stupidly betraying itself in pursuit of a few (hundred million) dollars. Well, at least they'd never be so foolish as to try and remake Forbidden Planet, right? Right? (Wrong.)
