Yes, I just exercised my franchise (not a euphemism). I think I've missed maybe three opportunities to vote since I turned 18, and even though those were local bond elections, I still regret not getting out and being counted. Normally, I vote on the way home from work, and there has rarely been a line or a wait. Given the forecast (oh, and there's some thunder now!), I decided to make the short trip to the polling place as soon as I got up (polls open at 6a here). Mine was the 18th ballot cast on the paper ballot counter (we have both that and a couple of touchscreens at our location), and there was a small line of people waiting. I'm hoping there will be a large turnout today, both here in Missouri and generally. I also hope that one of the certifiable* candidates (Mittens or teh Huck) has a big day and keeps the dysfunction going for a while longer.

So, if you have the opportunity today, get out and vote. It's your duty as a citizen to express your informed opinion. And if you don't, you can't bitch.

*Believer that Native Americans are descended from the lost tribes of Israel and creationist, respectively. Yep, definitely batshit insane, as PZ Myers would so delicately put it.
