Friday Again?
Jun. 27th, 2008 05:45 pmWow, that week went quickly. From George Carlin dying to Scalia magically disappearing the first two clauses of the Second Amendment, it's been a busy one. Not to mention the Royals have won five straight, and ten out of their last eleven! And somewhere in the middle of all that, I loaded the 9,000th song into my iTunes.
1) Love You To, The Beatles
2) Play The Game, Queen
3) Cerdes (Outside The Gates Of), Procol Harum
4) The Wanderer, U2 Feat. Johnny Cash
5) Got The Time, Anthrax
6) Hippie Dream, Neil Young And Crazy Horse (10/22/86 Fox Theater, St. Louis)
7) You're Full Of Shit (Check Out My Sweet Riffs), Giant Drag
8) Spy, TMBG
9) I Fought the Law, The Clash
10) Man's Best Friend, Lords Of Acid
And we're not stopping now!
11) Don't You Know Anything, Amy Allison
12) Icing Sugar, The Cure
13) I'll Be Back, The Beatles
Meant to get this out this morning, but had a bad case of don't want to go to work, so I wound up quitting Firefox without sending (fortunately, it saves the post [or LJ does, whichever]). Anyway, soon it will be Waldo Pizza time, and the first in the return engagement of the I-70 Series. Pulsifer and I went to the stadium Wednesday to see the finale of the Royals-Rockies series, and to celebrate the birthday of Pulsifer's son, Eric.* Brats were grilled, beer was drunk, and the game was quite good, with the home team prevailing, which made all the people who brought brooms happy (sweep!). Among the revelers was Eric's manager at Sharp's, a fine restaurant/bar in the Brookside area, whose logo incorporates a triangle with a rainbow in it. As George Carlin once said, "You don't have to be Freud to figure that one out." While we were sitting in the stands, Ken (I think that was his name, if not, hey, there was beer consumed) started making fluttering gestures with his hands and invoked Angels in the Outfield, saying "That's one of the movies of my people."
Immediately I responded (beer, remember?), "Oh, I thought that was Anus in the Outfield."
Ken looked at me and said, "Wow, that's hitting below the belt . . . which I like."
It was a great time, and if anyone reading this is looking for a good meal in the Brookside/Waldo area, Sharp's 63rd St. Grill is an excellent choice. Onward, to Kauffman Stadium, and glory!!!!!
*Technically, Heather and Eric are mine and Star's children, but that's another story entirely.
