Didn't get a chance to do this in the ante; I was busy finishing up the ConQuesT Program Book and delivering the cd to the printer. I really, really hate it when Memorial Day is so early in the month. Next year it will be the 31st; doesn't get any later than that. I shall have several posts over the course of the evening concerning things that I didn't get to earlier because of the book.
Right now it's raining, I dunno, capybara and jaguars out, having passed the canine and feline level a while back. Which reminds me, They Might Be Giants will be playing at the Beaumont Club next Friday, which would usually be a source of joy for moi. That happens to be the first night of ConQuesT, so there's no way I can go. And the show will be a special one, wherein they will perform the entireity of their album "Flood." Things like this are why I don't believe in god(s), because if I did I'd then have to be paranoid enough to believe they did things like this because they hated me. On to the music:
1) Let Me Run into Your Lonely Heart, Eddie Kendricks
2) Save For You, The Clumsy Lovers
3) Aftershower Funk, Joe Bataan
4) Bastards And Bridesmaids, Two Cow Garage
5) Powderfinger, Neil Young & Crazy Horse (10/22/86 Fox Theater, St. Louis)*
6) Castles, Doveman
7) Shankill Butchers, The Decemberists
8) Here, There and Everywhere (Claudine Longet), The Beatles [mashup]
9) Hound Dog, The Jimi Hendrix Experience
10) Let's Pretend We're Bunny Rabbits, The Magnetic Fields
And the flaming brandy (not a band, yet) on top:
11) I Care About Detroit, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles
12) 1934, Xera
13) Kozatsky 'til You Dropsky, Shirim
It's 9p, and the deluge has moved on, so the Royals-Orioles game is going to start, only two hours late. It's Greinke time!
Oops, more thunder outside. Pitch fast!
* My 30th birthday. No, I wasn't there, damnit
