This morning I drove Rohanna to her dance practice, so I could run some errands whilst she was jigging and reeling. As we drove down Main, we notice a Big Green Egg inflatable outside this store, and vowed to check it out on the way back home. We then got caught in some kind of probably very worthwhile but exceedingly annoying walking thing that had half the Plaza shut down, specifically the part we needed to get through. Eventually, we made it out and headed to the church where dance practice is held. I dropped Ro off, and headed south in search of many thing.

First stop Price Chopper, which did not have the Jones Soda I was craving. Then across the street to Lukas Liquor (Kansas side), where I picked up Boulder Brewing's Hazed and Infused dry-hopped ale, Lakefront (Wisconsin) Brewing's IPA and a summer sampler from Saranac Brewing of Utica, NY.

Then to the necessary part of the peregrinations: Daddy needed a new pair of shoes. The boots I had been wearing pretty much daily for two years had developed a split along the seam by my right big toe, and it had grown explosively in the past few days. So I dropped into Wallyworld and picked up a pair of hiking boots on sale for $13. At checkout, they rang up for $9, which pleased me.

Since I still had time, I headed across the parking lot to Best Buy, where I grabbed the new Neko Case and Decemberists cds. At checkout, the clerk told me the total, and I pointed out to him that neither of the prices on his screen matched the ones on the stickers on the discs. After a brief consult with a supervisor, I headed back to pick up Ro, my discount cds stored with the rest of my loot.

As agreed, we stopped at Trapp to see what the brouhaha was about. They had several Eggs in various sizes up and cooking, and were sharing sausage, ribs and cheese (the latter grilled on cedar planks for 15 minutes or so. Brie and Pecorino Romano. Om damn nom). I chatted with one of the salesmen about the Egg, then we went inside, where there was a wide variety of spices, rubs, marinades, sauces and other paraphernalia for the outdoor chef. We managed to control ourselves, and only got a bottle of Chipotle-Lime grilling sauce and some Spiced Rum Butterscotch topping.

Tomorrow morning one of Ro's supppliers who does roofing on the side (not a euphemism) is coming by to check out our problems, then Ro and I are going to the ballpark to see the Great Ghod Greinke pitch.
