The car turned over 98,000 miles this week, and I passed 23,000 entries in iTunes. Coincidence? Yeah, probably.

Had a lovely time in St. Louis last weekend. Many cigars were smoked, two bottles of single malt were ritually sacrificed and unique and/or entertaining items were acquired from a mullti-block garage sale. Plus a visit to Trader Joe's! The only issues came on the way home. First was a major construction blockage at Mile Marker 103, at Boonville. It took me a half hour to get through it, only because I was able to duck off at MM 106 and take Business 70 through Boonville around the problem. The best part was watching a pickup truck race by on the shoulder, then seeing said truck and its douche-canoe of a driver sitting on said shoulder, being briskly interrogated by a couple of extremely irritated-looking Highway Patrol officers. Occasionally, things do work out right.

Later on, just after passing the exit at MM 31, traffic came to a complete halt. Slowly we eventually crept forward, and around the mass of emergency vehicles in the right lane. The cause of the problem was fairly obvious: a red 4-door of uncertain ancestry was laying on its roof, its front end ripped off at the firewall. And now, the tunes:

1) The Bug, Dire Straits

2) Chickfactor, Belle & Sebastian

3) Down 42nd Street to the Light, East River Pipe

4) Shut Up, Madness

5) The Perfect Crime #2, The Decemberists

6) Bell Bottom Blues, Eric Clapton

7) Search And Destroy, Iggy And The Stooges

8) Leaving Loachapoka , Marshall Chapman

9) Tear It Up, The Cramps

10) Sea Of Monsters, The Beatles

and we're walking . . .

11) Even Better Than The Real Thing, U2

12) Come Back From San Francisco, The Magnetic Fields

13) Hair Of The Dog, Bauhaus

Another Friday, another weekend. This one will be spent continuing to clean the house in preparation for folks staying with us next weekend for the NPulsifer/Gisele nuptuals. I will also be watching my fantasy football team, (not a euphemism), beat the everlovin' stuffing out of Rohanna's team this weekend.
