The Struggle Continues

I confused everyone by showing up at work today long enough to grab the Tiger disk and come back to work on Dragonet's dead borrowed laptop. When I ran disk utility, it gave me a message of "Invalid* Sibling Link," which I then googled. Desperate as I was, I delved ino the madness of Terminal, and tried some of the suggestions I found on various Mac fora. Alas, they did not work.

Fireguarder (who has friends in a tech dept.), has offered to take the recalcitrant laptop in to see if they can ressurrect it, or at least get the data off the hard drive. We shall see what transpires. If anyone out there has other suggestions based on this info that I might be able to try, feel free to let me know.


* "Invalid" as in "not the thing we were looking for," as opposed to "so ill as to be bedridden," in case anyone was wondering. Though I suppose the whole phrase could be used on one of those "Who's the Daddy?" episodes of "Maury."
