Dear Liza, Dear Liza
Feb. 4th, 2013 08:37 amSo I was getting ready to head over to NPulsifer's to watch the Super Bowl with various people, and taste beers that we had accumulated over the past few weeks/months. We'd sampled nine brews the previous Friday, and wanted to set a record. As the Keeper of the Beers (yes, yes, coals to Newcastle, Tits to Hooterville, etc.), I had a cooler full of bottles ready to go. Dragonet and I went to move the cars around, and that's when the fun began.
I backed the van onto the street and parked it, so I could move the Intrepid out and D2 could get her car and run errands. I parked the van, opened the door, and realized I had dome something very not good. Somehow, I had impaled my left hand on part of the Chrysler logo that was on the inside of the door. I has a huge gash in the side of my hand, and a smaller one in the palm where it had exited. I walked up the drive to where D2 was waiting in her car, showed her the blood, and we went inside to examine the mess.
And mess it was. I rinsed it in cold water, then we went upstairs to have Rohanna check it out. She wanted me to go to the ER, but I had responsibilities (see beer, above). So D2 wrapped it up, and life went on.
Ro and I changed the dressing this morning. There's a huge flap torn open on the side. The exit wound is already healing. If it doesn't look any better after work, I'll probably wind up in the ER. Joy.
