It will be interesting to see how many windows I can fit into my 24" monitor and be able to read them.

And the first award is the Big Heart Award, to Andrew Porter, longtime editor and publisher.

Showing the In Memoriam List now. Hope they used the one from the Souvenir Book. Poor Spacebat.

Cheryl Morgan, Dave Hartwell and Wu were all delighted to win again, and then asked that next year the voters consider other nominees. (Of course, they could just decline the nomination next year). I'm all for that - I'd like to see Steve Stiles win a fan Artist Hugo - and I'd like to pound into people's heads during the nomination season that my own beloved deserves a nomination for editor based on the incredible work he does for Wild Cards. I've seen several editors do their work up close and personal, and as far as old fashioned hands-on editing and results go, George is right up there with the best.

And so now the race to 2010 begins. I'd be half-tempted to campaign for Greasing the Pan for the "Best Related Book," because I've already stolen the acceptance speech from John Lydon.

You mean, "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?" I'd love to be at the Hugos for that.

You got it in one. I almost used that at my Confirmation, back when I was still Catholic.
