In my old Caravan (recently traded in) with the tranverse-mounted V-6 the shop manual says you had to remove a wheel and the wheel panel behind it to put on either of the two main belts. When the shop man told me that I laughed and told him no, you could do it with one person with just the hood open. He bet me an oil change I was wrong, so I showed him how and got a free oil change. Took me ten minutes or so as compared to an hour or more for all the "access" work. I've even done it on the side of the road in the rain when the belt slipped off the tension arm from moisture.
