And now for something completely different, a cat playing a theremin. (via Boing Boing, via Laughing Squid)

Also from Boing Boing, a review of Sony's Vaio TZ Premium subnotebook. Some highlights, but the whole thing is definitely worth reading.

"If the crapware removal is like getting cold feet at the altar, however, other flaws emerge, like misdemeanor convictions and minor venereal diseases uncovered over the course of a honeymoon. . . .

Windows Vista, the fat electron-guzzling turd that it is, is mildly inappropriate for a svelte ultraportable, but that isn't Sony's fault. Downgrade it, and imagine the world-conquering wonder this thing would be with OSX."

And finally, if you haven't heard of Expelled, it's a purported documentary on the travails of the brave souls who are fighting the entrenched forces of Fundamentalist Darwinism so that schoolchlidren everywhere can hear the Good News about Intelligent Design. Oh yeah, and Ben Stein (yeah, that guy) explains how Darwin led to the Holocaust. Um, yeah, right. This piece of meretricious (or merdetricious, for our Canadian readers) pile of tripe was screened at the Missouri Statehouse last week for the Governor and various legislators. The Kansas City Star's report is here. It's supposed to open Friday nationwide, but there is a little problem concerning copyright infringement that might delay that. Click the link above for lots of fun information.

it has some hilarious radio ads

oh! wait! it's coming on right now!

on my local 'liberal' talk station, mostly AAR, with Stephanie Miller in the am.

it's been playing in heavy rotation for the last week.

please, piss some more of your money away advertising on a station that would probably have a high proportion of listeners who, like, totally 'believe' in the basic theory of evolution as proposed by Darwin, and refined over more than an century of multiple scientific disciplines. Oh yeah, we're your target demo, and we need and will take your money.
