The good news is we found someone who will re-roof the house, one section at a time. He's a nice guy, and didn't freak over the poly thing. He got a ton of work done yesterday, and did a bit more this morning before the rain hit. The areas where there was leakage into Rohana's office were tight today.

Of course, nothing ever goes well. At 6p or so, Ro yells for me to come downstairs. Water is coming in over the hutch with the tv and other electronics. I move the hutch out of the way, drain the water from the bubble forming in the ceiling, and place buckets. Ro tries turning on the tv, and it goes all spazz, including not responding to the remote. I turn off the surge protector everything was plugged into, take all the plugs out, dried everything off, and we tried again. No go. The water trail ran under the cable box, then down the front of the tv and into the body right above the power switch. She is dead dead deadski. Also 10 years old+.

I have moved my tv down to Ro's room for the nonce. Depending on what the limit on the Nebraska card is, we might be getting a tv. Or not. When we went to charge the roofing materials, D2 was told Sunday our Home Despot card had had its limit cut to about 10% of its original state. We keep it paid off. Foolish us.

Tired. Really fucking tired.

might be too late, but putting the electronic components in rice for a few days dries stuff out really well. My guess if it actually sparked, it's shot. bummer. I've been mostly off line- my mac was in te shop over ConQuesT and as soon as I got it back, the modem died. Now I am a wifi parasite.

I have an extra television that I would be thrilled silly to get rid of. Could bring it down next time I come. Not sure if it has a remote or not. It's in decent shape- older, but not decrepit by my standards.

Once you hear the snap crackle pop the circuit boards are toast. :-(
