So, you might be wondering, what else could go wrong for our hero? Well, I'll tell ya. Having survived a morning of dealing with the signs for the Zebra Mussel Menace while working directly with the boss, I laminated the other 300 signs and was cutting them apart so they would be ready to be mounted to the sign blanks when they arrive some time next week. I had a good groove going, and I was going to have most of them ready to finish Monday morning. I cut one pair off of the set I was working on, slid them down the table, moved the set forward to make the next cut, and reached for the box-cutter style knife we use for these things. As I picked it up, the heel of the knife hit the ruler next to it, and the whole knife flipped over and I closed my fingers on the brand new blade before I could stop myself.

Bad words were said, and many paper products later, I realized I wasn't going to be able to stop the bleeding by myself. So I went from the laminating room across the hall to the office, and Charlotte was kind enough to go down to the CVS next door and get bandages, neosporin and pressure tape (the boss had left for the day some time earlier). By the time she got back, it had pretty much stopped bleeding thanks to direct pressure, and we got it bandaged up. She kept asking if I wanted to go to the hospital, but it wasn't that bad of a cut. I drove home, and Ro looked at it and we re-bandaged it. It's a gouge on the middle finger of the left hand, right across the inside of the top knuckle. It's not making typing particularly easy.

At this point, I am fully expecting the aircraft carrier to fall from the sky* at some point.
