Oh, and it's been a lovely week at work. Lotsa stuff to do, but not the right stuff at the right time. We're still waiting for a client to deliver another file with somewhere between 50 and 96 posters to be printed, mounted, cut out and packaged for delivery to some faraway city where the client's conference will be held next week. The first 95 took me 5 hours (with frequent interruptions), and of course there will be other things to deal with while I am trying to get this load done (assuming the file shows up today; as of 3p Thursday it was being "proofread" and they hoped to get it to us be the end of the day, which didn't happen). In any event, here's some tunes to lead into the end of summer this weekend.
1) Ballad Of Wu Fei, Onward Crispin Glover
2) All You Need Is Love, Rogue Wave
3) Theme Of "Rome," Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi
4) Do You Want My Job?, David Lindley & Wally Ingram
5) I Kissed A Girl, Jill Sobule
6) Don't Let The Joneses Get You Down, The Temptations
7) Living Is So Easy, British Sea Power
8) A Love Bizarre, Dump
9) Close Our Eyes, Oingo Boingo
10) Dynamite Woman, Dave Alvin
holiday bonus stuff!
11) The Party (2009 Stereo Mix), The Monkees
12) Brand New Cadillac, The Clash (Velodromo Vigorelli, Milan, 05-21-81)
13) Kill You (ft. Sole), Kay The Aquanaut
Whether the file mentioned above gets in or not, Dragonet and I are heading to St. Louis for the weekend as soon as I get out of work (Rohanna has an out-of-town relative visiting, and will be doing family things, alas). Highlights will include friends, cigars, whisky, thrift shopping and a Cards-Reds ballgame Sunday. We'll be heading back home Monday. Good thing I will have Tuesday off to recover.
Oh, and the headline of the day (from the KC Star Sports section):
"The Royals Finally See a Happy Ending"
subhead:
"After blowing leads in two straight losses . . ."
I'm not sure straight is the word I would have used, but whatevs.
