Rohanna Update
May. 14th, 2008 10:49 pmIt turns out it was a hematoma, not an abcess. It had filled in the hole left by the lumpectomy. The surgery went fine, and her first words when she was wheeled into her room and saw us was "where's my pizza?" She was in much better spirits than she had been for several days (two doses of morphine* was helping that, too).
She will be in the hospital until Dr. Oza says the inflammation in her breast (not a euphemism) has gone down enough. She'll probably be there through tomorrow at a minimum. She has her computer and a wireless network available, so she'll be entertained.
Thanks to everyone for their support and kind words. All of us here appreciate it, more than we can say.
And now, beer and bed.
* We now have a new metric, borrowed from "Ghostbusters": "If someone asks 'would you like morphine?', you answer YES!"
