Feetsball!

Got up this morning and went to the dentist, who made some adjustments to my temporary. I have an appointment to see him again Oct. 30 (day before the start of ConTraception) to begin the process of making the permanent toothlike object. He wants my war-torn mouth to have more time to finish healing from the four teeth pulled back in July. After that, I stopped at a nearby Goodwill store, and was shocked to find they were selling most of their shirts and jeans for $6.99 and up. WTF, thrift store? Took the back way home to avoid the construction on I-35, only to discover that Merriam Lane was being re-sealed, so I took an even more circuitous route back home through the wilds of KCK.

But that's not what I came here to talk about. I'm here to talk about fantasy football. Ro and I joined the rest of the team owners at the Satterkleins's residence in Lee's Summit and proceeded to spend four or so hours cursing and ridiculing each other, depending on whether any given person had their heart set on the player just drafted by someone else. Overall, I am reasonably happy with my team, though I'm sure there will be changes over the course of the season.

And now, ladies and ruminants, I present -- Baconcats!

QB Jay Cutler, Denver

QB J.T. O'Sullivan, SF (he's a quarterback! He's a casual dining restaurant!)

QB Chad Pennington, Miami

RB Marshawn Lynch, Buffalo

RB Fred Taylor, Jacksonville (I have owned Fred almost every year he's been in the league. A comfort pick)

WR Santonio Holmes, Pittsburgh

WR Calvin Johnson, Detroit

WR Andre Johnson, Houston (why, yes, I do have two Johnsons)

WR Devin Freakin' Hester, bitchez! Chicago

D/ST Pittsburgh

D/ST Baltimore

And now, onward to Little Big Horn, and glory!

After I took Rohanna home and put her to bed, I ran out took a couple of pictures that I hope to post either here or on Flickr with a link. DO NOT be eating or drinking when you see these pictures. You have been warned.

Watched the second half of the KU-Louisiana Tech game this evening. At one point, La. Tech's fastest receiver broke free on a reverse, and I thought he was gone. Suddenly, the KU safety came out of nowhere and caught him at the two yard line. The defense held, and the La. Tech kicker missed a gimme field goal. Final score, KU 29, La. Tech 0. Rock chalk!
