So, yeah, I went to work, and had plenty of shit to do. And more for next week, so maybe we're over the slow time. Or not.
Came home, waited for Pulsifer, his lovely lady Gisele and our son Eric to bring over the slabs of dead cow for me to throw on the grill. When they showed up, I was frankly amazed. Normally, when one of our local grocers has top sirloin for $2.99/lb, they tend to be thin slices. These sucker were "family packs" of two per package, and a good 3/4" thick. Om nom nom.
Pulsifer brought a box of Boulevard Pale Ale, but didn't think it was enough, so we ran over to Gomer's and grabbed a six of Sam Adams Ale and Avery IPA, plus some Woodchuck Cider. After much maneuvering of the huge steaks on the baby coffin grill, we ate. Meat, taters, cucumbers in a Japanese marinade, and D2's peach cobbler for dessert.
So it behooves me to mention that this month marks the 20th anniversary of my meeting Pulsifer, at a KaCSFFS meeting at a bar at 31st and Main. How the time flies. A better friend one could not ask for. It is my privilege to call him my best friend, and to have had some small influence on the development of his most excellent children. You're the best, guy. Thanks for being there.
