Due to a combination of ennui and, well, ennui, I never got around to writing about last weekend's whirlwind of activity, which included Rohanna and I going to Lawrence for the monthly KanPoly meetup (with stops at [livejournal.com profile] verminusrex's bagel stand and Dragonet's sister's store Brits). At he meetup, I received my wonderful socks made by [livejournal.com profile] tensigrity (which fit great, by the way. thanks again!). Rohanna and I rushed back home in time for the ConQuesT meeting, followed by the KaCSFFS meeting, after which we went to see the lovely and multi-talented[livejournal.com profile] aerie13 perform at the Westport Coffee Shop. Good times all around.

1) Million Miles, Bob Dylan

2) High Friends In Places, Giant Drag

3) Skeleton, Ginger Baker Trio

4) Orange Crush (Live), R.E.M.

5) My Growing Heart, ToToM (Peter Gabriel - Growing up + Nine Inch Nails - My Violent Heart)

6) Violet Hill, Coldplay

7) Many Lives --> 49 MP, Final Fantasy

8) I Left My Heart In Texas, Killing Jazz

9) Blue Driver, Michael Hurley

10) Echoes Round The Sun, Paul Weller

and on to overtime:

11) The ConstruKction of Light, King Crimson

12) The Way I Feel Tonight, Steve Cropper

13) Pocahontas, Neil Young (11/15/92 Riverside Theater, Milwaukee, WI)

And thanks to the KC Star, it looks like Rohanna and I will be going to see Brave Combo at Oktoberfest tonight (free pass for 2 sticker on the front of this morning's paper). Guess I'll have to dvr the debate, assuming there is one.

Circumstances have conspired to keep me from seeing BC live in over a year so consider me a wee bit jealous. I'm suffering from Chronic "Hokey Pokey" Deficiency at this point and there's only one cure.

You Put Your Tongue In . . .

hungleft me out to dry on the Hokey Pokey, so I had to be the Dorky White Guy™. The sacrifices I make. Perhaps I can existentially transfer my Hokey Pokey mojo to you next weekend (not a euphemism).

That would be Brave Combo, Grammy-award winning polka/salsa/conjunto/cha-cha party band. The keyboard was hitting it pretty hard Friday night
