Feb. 1st, 2008 08:20 amGiven the state of the economy, 2008 should be renamed Plummet Year. Our local tin-can-and-string enterprise, Sprint, is about to write off $31 billion of "goodwill," a technical accounting term. I'm putting the over/under on the re-naming of the new Sprint Center downtown at three years, and I'm taking the under.
Anyway, there's a Super Bowl to watch Sunday, and a new episode of House afterwards. I'm surprised there hasn't been more government pressure to end the WGA strike. The lack of shows might actually get people to pay some small bit of attention the economy, the war, and other details of life.
Oh, right, who am I kidding.
1) The Mesopotamians, TMBG
2) To Be Someone, The Jam
3) Sailin' Shoes, Little Feat
4) Moonlightn', Al Wilson
5) Real Merry Gents Don't Rest, The Border Patrol
6) Lovers Prayers, Ida
7) Modern Love, Peter Gabriel With Robert Fripp
8) Maricela, Los Lobos
9) Sway, Alejandro Escovedo
10) She's A Piece Of Work, John Wesley Harding
encore!
11) Walking On The Moon, Judith Owen
12) My Soul, Rasutina
13) I Was A Kaleidoscope, Death Cab For Cutie
Had a brief intarweb outage, and I wasn't sure all the hard work above would be preserved, but here it is, restored from memory. Ain't science wonderful?
